Lost Mtn AwardsWELCOME

At Lost Mountain Lodge, you can choose Olympic National Park lodging from the best of both worlds on the Olympic Peninsula -- an exceptional country inn with luxury B&B Suites or independent Private Cottages. Our guests come to explore the nearby tide pools, hike the misty Hoh Rain Forest, and trek the majestic mountain peaks of the Olympic National Park.

Beautifully and privately sited on nearly 10-acres of sunny mountain views, idyllic ponds and cottage gardens, our Port Angeles area bed and breakfast is relaxed, refined and refreshing. Bright, airy, and casually elegant interiors full of original artwork, upscale furnishings and lavish linens are just the beginning of a truly fresh interpretation of what a country inn should be!

Centrally located on the Olympic Peninsula, the Lodge is literally minutes to the main entrance gates to the Olympic National Park at Hurricane Ridge and Deer Park. As the number 1 rated B&B for Sequim lodging for the past 10 years, we're only five minutes by car to great beachcombing and bird watching at the Dungeness Spit & National Wildlife Refuge - rated one of the best beach hikes in the West by Sunset Magazine. While our location is secluded and extremely private, the Lavender farms and quaint shops in Sequim, the bustling Port Angeles waterfront and the ferries to Victoria, B.C. are all just minutes away. We're a quick 35-minute trip to the waterfall trails at Lake Crescent and only 45-minutes to the charming Victorian seaport of Port Townsend. It's a pleasant morning drive to the Hoh Rain Forest as well as the wild and rugged Pacific Ocean beaches of Cape Flattery, Rialto, Kalaloch, and Ruby Beach. If you're a fan of the Twilight series of books and movies, we'll provide a great self-guided tour map of the best places to spot vampires and werewolves near Forks.

Since we opened in 2001, we've hosted guests from all 50 states and 39 countries. Celebrity guests wanting absolute privacy and a bit of luxury when getting away from it all have made us their private retreat. If you're a high profile guest needing a discreet getaway, you'll appreciate how we honor Confidentiality Agreements so your whereabouts and activities remain undisclosed. The Sequim-Valley Airport with its lighted 3500-ft. runway provides excellent access by private plane or small jet and is just three (3) miles from the main Lodge.

Interested in fly fishing expeditions in the backcountry on the Hoh, Elwha or Bogachiel Rivers. Want a beginner's kayak expedition including private guide and all your gear to the New Dungeness Lighthouse. Looking for an easy hike along the peaceful shores of Lake Crescent or Lake Ozette in the Olympic National Park. Have you heard about the Audubon-guided bird watching trips to Protection Island or nature walks with a botanist in the Hoh Rain Forest. We'll put you in touch with the experts. Be sure to follow our Travel Blog for our Insider's Tips on making the most of your visit to the amazing Olympic Peninsula.

Our property is a National Wildlife Federation Certified Wildlife Habitat. Here on the estate, you'll see bald eagles, Great Blue Herons, red-wing blackbirds, pileated woodpeckers, peregrine falcons, red-tailed hawks, black-tail deer, widgeons, pintails, and gold finches. As soon as the daylilies bloom, our gardens are full of hummingbirds. Want to see hundreds of iridescent turquoise dragonflies flitting through the cattails on our ponds. Then be sure to visit in late July and early August. The natural ponds here teem with life throughout the Seasons at the Inn.

After enjoying a wonderful dinner of fresh and inventive local Olympic Coast Cuisine at one of the romantic restaurants or charming bistros in Sequim, linger in our hydrotherapy spas under the stars. Our private estate is also the perfect place to escape the hustle & bustle of city life and just do nothing.

Discover for yourself why Lost Mountain Lodge was named one of Washington State's Top 40 Special Places for Romance, Adventure and Gourmet Cuisine and the Best Weekend Escape in North America!

Notes from the Innkeeper

Hummingbirds dart between the foxglove and daylilies here in our lush gardens of summer. Fragrant fields of lavender are woven like purple ribbons across the sunny fields of the Dungeness Valley. The countryside is dotted with U-pick Lavender and berry farms, roadside flower stands, and Farmer's Markets. Life is simpler here and many of the activities like beachcombing and hiking are free!
